At McCormick Middle School, we guide students through one of the most important transitions in their academic journey. From grades 6–8, students build independence, strengthen core skills, and discover new interests, all in a supportive environment that values curiosity, responsibility, and connection. Students in grades 3 – 8 at Huron City Schools participate in Ohio’s State Achievement Tests each spring. These assessments measure student progress in core subjects and help ensure every learner is meeting grade-level expectations aligned with Ohio’s Learning Standards. Below, you’ll find important information about test dates, preparation tools, and how to interpret your child’s results.
All assessments will take place during the first 2–3 hours of the school day:

At Huron City Schools, we take online privacy seriously and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Ohio's SB29 legislation to ensure students are protected when engaging with educational technology.
